I'm partial to Blue Bay on Reidville Rd in Spartanburg. Great fried seafood. Fresh with just the right kind of crust!!

I like a good plate of seafood too... anyone tried that Tybee Island Seafood place? I think it is on Wade Hampton.

I know it ain't upstate but if you're ever there try Sara J's at Garden City. Just south of Myrtle Beach. You won't regret it. Smile

In that area, my family is partial to Lee's Inlet Kitchen, a little further down the road in Murrells Inlet.

Joe's Crab Shack on Pellam road is great. good food, good entertainment. the one at myrtle beach wasnt quite as good, and that's as far as restuarants go. in the summer alot of us get togather and have a big cookout. everyone brings something. last year we had oysters, red snapper, dolfin, king makerel, catfish stew, fried catfish, crappie, slaw, potatoes, homemade hush puppies, homemade sauces, and a few good desserts. lots of good food, some pickin' and grinnin',and it was ALL good. a great way to get togather with friends, and meet new ones too.

There's a fairly new fresh seafood market on Rt. 14 and Pelham. Their fish is nice & fresh. They also make there own spring rolls that look yummy. If you ask for Redsnapper, you get the whole fish (so ask for it filleted).

Dunno if you're into it, but it's hard to beat Irashi in G'ville! Doesn't get any fresher than Sushi! Behind K-mart on Wade Hampton. Not cheap, but not insane. At the beach, try the low country crab caserole at the Sea Captian's House @ 33'rd and Ocean Blvd...

Maguro and Toro! Raw Tuna rocks! Anything else is just bait!

PS - Heard good things about that market Lavender mentioned!
