Panasonic 103" Plasma Screen Unveiled at CES

Quote:
Matsushita Electric Industrial, the maker of Panasonic products, said on Thursday it had developed a prototype of a 103-inch plasma display panel, the world's largest plasma screen.

The prototype, which will be on display at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas from Thursday, appears to put Matsushita slightly ahead of South Korea's Samsung Electronics in an ongoing battle for bragging rights over who can develop the biggest flat TV.

Samsung grabbed headlines at last year's CES show by unveiling a 102-inch plasma display prototype. Neither company has made clear when these monster screens will actually reach store shelves and at what price.

Samsung boasts the largest plasma TV now on the market, having started sales of an 80-inch model in South Korea in October for a whopping 130 million won ($130,200).
Link..

This is one of those lottery gadgets. Even then, I'd have to think hard about paying that kind of dough for a TV...

Uhh Uhh (back peddlin as fast as he can) That would be a good plan regardless of the TV.

Unfortunately for the Super Bowl Party, but fortunatley for Mrs. RB and me, we will be on a 7 day Caribbean cruise and won't be home until Monday Feb 6th.

We are leaving home on Friday (1/27) morning.

I hope we don't have any hurricanes!

Maybe there will be a large screen TV on the ship. I wonder if they get satelite reception on a ship with all the motion. I wonder if they have gyroscope managed satelite antennas?

Oh well, there is always next year. Field Goal

A Caribbean cruise? Great time of the year to get away.

Think about us when your funnin' in the sun; we will be here, freezing out butts off.

Heck yeah on the sat!! They have Sat dishes that work on planes and RVs. The cruise ship will be sure to have the game available. Wink

How nice for you to be out on the nice warm briny this time of year, RB! *sigh*

They'll probably have plasma TV on the ship!! How nice. Bet it's not the 103-inch one though! Have fun!
