Mine will ask me ifI'm in an application, and here at the same time. I was wondering GW about those other two chrome.scm scripts, and should I delete them. We wasnt sure. I'll try that too, cause this is still what I'm seeing, and I know I did what "O" said, and Ive checked everything, and turned it every which way but lose. Still, so far this is what I see........

Yall know I cant stand it. The chrome is shiny, yall know I like shiny.

Well it asked me if it was ok to start gimp, or anything whether it made contact with the Inet or not.

I can understand with browsers and mail proggys but why stuff that doesn't connect to the internet? Weird. I really hated it because every program I wanted to use, it asked me.

I don't blame you for dumping that firewall then.

Maybe it's the font it doesn't like. I tried it after I reset it and just used the default font. Also, tried resizing the default font. Worked. Tried a different font. Worked. Tried it with the font that it crashed with before. Crashed.

Font here:
PLATINUM.TTF

I tried that font at 100 and 75 and it didn't crash in Linux

One other thing to try. Probably won't make any difference but it's worth a try.

Ohhhhhhhhh!!!! Are you opening it in Xtns/ScriptFu/Logos or are you opening it in the old place it used to be? I think the file was named chrome in the old place.

Anyway, make sure you use the right folder, and after you open it, click the reset button. I betcha you are opening it from the old folder. Maybe you'd better delete those other two chrome files.

Maybe when Sirwen gets chrominium up and running she can try the font. I can resize any of the others so far without probs. Just that one makes it crash and if I turn off the sparkles, it doesn't crash either. I'm not a lot worried about it because I seldom keep the sparkles anyway.

If necessary I can make my own sparkles.

Sirwen,

chrome-it.scm and chromlogo.scm are built-in scripts that come with Gimp2.4 so you should keep those.

You must be putting these custom scripts in with the built-in ones or you wouldn't' be seeing those.

You really should consider keeping the custom scripts separated by placing them in the user folder located here (per O).

C:\Documents and Settings\<your name>\.gimp-2.4\scripts\

Oh, I never thought of the folder in program files. Man, you gotta dig to China to get to that one.

Yes, I have the two chrome files in that scripts folder too.

Yeah, "O" I'm running it from the new place. That old one on the right over there is there, but not lit up anymore, just like the glass script was.

I DO have the custom scripts there GW,and everything else is still working fine.

I'm gonna find what's wrong. Might take me a bit,but I'll find it.

I'm like this again right now >>>> Gaah!! Hands on Hips

And yeah, I ve cleared the cache now too. Rolling Eyes

I'm as bad as "O" about...."Why aint this working??"

So, ET, are those other two chrome scripts in your custom folder? They shouldn't be.

Check and make sure they're here, though.

Program Files/Gimp-2.0/Share/gimp/2.0/scripts

Sirwen,

Check the date on that chrominium.scm script. The date should be Dec 13, 2007 11:18 and if it's not, you are still using the old version. Make sure you've deleted the old script from both locations too!

She checked the date on it. I told her what the date on mine was and hers is the same.

Well, if it's the right version, there must be two versions floating around on her machine. Perhaps the script is in the both the user and global folders.

I renamed a script once and copied over a new version and it still used the old version that I had renamed (because it was still there). That's the really the only two possibilities left that I can think of..

OK, they are not in the custom folder "O",but they are in the shared one. Ive done all I can, even a de-frag.

I already know I'm gonna re-format this thang right after New Year's,so,if I cant get the chrome to work,I wont be worried with this for long. I know..... reformatting is a pain in the butt, but I knew it was gonna have to be done when I hooked this computer up. It's still got some Ray files in it,and sometimes it still wamts to be him. Ive been trouble shooting since I got it,which has taught me alot. I finally have it where I can can work it.

I DO love the speed, and space in this one tho. It does ZOOM,no matter what I'm doing.

Those Windows updates still show up now and then, and I wont do it,because I'm gonna have to go thru the re-formatting again anyway.

Yep! PUTERS....gotta love em.

I do have one more question tho. Do yall see that screen shot up there? In the layers,do yall have that mapper layer? Just wondering because Ive never seen that in the other scripts. All others are working, and I think Ive gotten far enuff in Gimp Shop to understand most of it.I just cant stand it no more than yall can when something, everywhere I look is right, and it aint working right for me. Oh welll....such is the life of PUTERS.

Stringster told me to bring it to him a couple of months ago,but he's been real busy, and Ive just dealt with it. It's Christmas, there's a party going on at Slider's again for New Year's,and Stringster just became a new granpa,so I'll catch up with him soon. Heck,we all busy right now.

Yes, that mapper has always been in the chrominium layers.

Your chrominium script isn't in the shared folder, is it? It shouldn't be.
