Just download, copy to your /scripts folder and refresh.
It allows you easily to create text and logos using variations of the lava effect. Lot's of interesting text effects can be achieved by varying font, text-color, shadow-color, bg-COLOR and the gradient.
The four layers created are background, text, lava text and shadow.

I'm releasing this new Script-Fu script called Bling Text V1.3 (bling-text.scm) for use with Gimp.
Create animated or static bling text with drop shadow
** IMPORTANT **
This script requires a set of patterns that are included in the zip file (/patterns). Copy these patterns to your local pattern folder in order to use this script.
Leaving the animate toggle unchecked will direct the script to generate a static image
The static images will contain one shadowed layer, semi-flattened with the background layer added.
Example
Checking the animate toggle will direct the script to generate 3 text layers with the selected font.
The text will be filled with the selected pattern and bling type
Each layer will be shadowed and semiflattened with the background color for use as an animated .GIF
Simply crop and save the image as an animated .GIF

This script will create color animated text using a variety of effects.
Here are some examples..
Cubism Effect
Oilify Effect
Plasma Effect
Diffraction Effect
Just enter the text and select the effect type. The script will generate 4 frames with the selected effect.
Lot's of variations can be achieved by adjusting the effect tweak sliders and scatter effect.
Simply save the generated text frames as an animated .GIF and you're done.
Selecting Raw Layer will display all raw layers only
Clicking off animation will display a single frame, flattened to the background.
*NOTE: Scatter-HSV is handled differently 2.4 than it was in Gimp 2.2.
When using Gimp 2.2, set scatter lower (40-60)
When using Gimp 2.4, set scatter higher (140-160)

This script creates glass text of any color. It's based on the tutorial by Ron Scott located here.
You control the opacity of the glass and have full control over the shadow layer.
You can also choose to display the glass text with or without a patterned background.

This script is basically beta but it is fully functional. The next release of this script will contain some color animation effects.
