Hell,I don't live in France but I'd buy one.

That's an interesting concept. Air driving the pistons. That's a new one for me.

I love this idea. That story is a few years old as well. I read somewhere that the newer models had a 100+ mile range. This kind of vehicle would be perfect for short commutes and errands around town. Smile

I'll bet a hybrid version could get 100s of miles per gallon.

That's way cool!!! Unfortunately, the video is no longer available they have a link to. Guess I'll check it out at the Honda dealer.

I've had Civics the last 15 - 20 years and I really love them. They're zippy and safe and fit me the best.

A natural gas power car is another good option to help rid dependency on foreign oil.

It's certainly not as good as compressed air though. The Honda is $25,000 base price, still requires fossil fuels and still produces emissions. The compressed air car is under $10,000 and produces no emissions.

You don't have a performance hit with the CNG car and range would be the same as a gasoline powered vehicle.

You're right but I'd bet many people would rather use the compressed air car or electric car for commuting to work or running around town, which is 90+% of most people's driving. If I can get 100 miles on a charge of air or electricity by plugging in at the house, I'd rather do that, for lots of different reasons.

We can always use the NG, Hybrid or Hydrogen powered vehicles for road trips.

Doing these kinds of things is certainly a step in the right direction for America.

How much does it cost to pump up the air in the thing every 100 miles? how much energy is needed to run that compressor? I have a 13amp (I think) electric motor 45gal compressor in my garage. From time to time the breaker kicks (I got a small leak somewhere) and it takes about 25-30 minutes for it to charge up to 110psi. How much dose that cost me? I have no idea but it should be calculated in to the cost of running that car.

Besides, I think the CNG can be installed on standard engines.

It costs about 1/20th of the price of gasoline at 25 mph. They have a hybrid version of this car that uses a small model airplane engine to power a booster compressor and they are claiming to get 500+ miles per gallon out of it...

There was a guy who made the claim of running a car on water also. Didn't lead to much.

These compressed air powered cars are not pie in the sky. They are selling them now. Wink
