I thought about it and I came up with 2 places I like better than my above mentioned Steak 'n' Shake.

My favorite place where burgers are concerned is Fuddruckers. I don't know if it's located across the country though but if you're in the midwest you should give it a try.

They make it and then there's a small bar of condiments and veggies & you can put whatever you want on it (tomatoes, pickles, relish, peppers, A1, ketchup, mustard, mayo etc) and it's always DELICIOUS. You have several sizes to chose from too, 1/4 lb, 1/2 lb, 1 lb (drooling thinking about it)

They have good shakes & desserts too

There's also a place called Culver's. They have great burgers & cheese fries as well and many other options (salads etc) to choose from. Delicious!

Yeah, I agree. Fuddruckers is the best of the bunch when it comes to hamburger chains. A new one just opened here in Greer. They make a really good steak sandwich too.

They ain't cheap though and I don't know if I'd classify them as "fast food", but their service is usually pretty quick.

The best burgers around here aren't from the national chains, they come from the small greasy spoons. My favorite is Pete's of Greer. They make a good burg with chili-cheese-mustard and onions. Tastey

There is a Fuddruckers near us in Anderson. We go there at least once a month. We "avoid" the high prices by buying a 2/3 Fudd Burger and splitting it. Then you can make a salad from the goodie bar, and load up your half Fudd Burger too.

That is true, they're a little more pricey, but I think worth the $
Very cool there's a new one by you! Cool

All those hamburgers sound YUMMY! Fuddrucker's are great. That would be my weekly red meat intake. Um, their steak fries are not too bad either. Wink

We end up eating with friends at Fuddruckers 4 or 5 times a year, and it is good, especially since you can dress your own burger.

The ostrich burgers were great, but like all good things, they are gone and now they offer Buffalo as their alternative to beef. It's pretty good but not as good as the ostrich meat burgers were.

The double chocolate Brownie, well it don't get much better than that, at least while you have your cloths on.

Restaurants have gotten ridiculous on their prices. What few times I do go it's a Wendy's triple cheese burger. Good sloppy hamburger

There's a place on 221 at the Blackstock Rd. crossing. It's callled 221 grill. They have a variety of things, and their prices are reasonable. If you order a burger there, they make it your way,and right in front of you.No frozen patties either.Fresh meat.Best sloppy chilli cheese burger Ive had. They dont do frozen fries either. They scrub the taterz and cut them when you order them. Good fresh food, for a good price. It's on the corner at the red light at the end of a small strip mall. pacman

One thing I miss about working on the road, all the neat places to chow down at for lunch. Carolina BBQ in Spartanburg, Brushy Creek BBQ in Powdersville, The Great Eastern Buffet in Col, Whitefords in Laurens, man, i'm getting hungry...

Looking back on my Fuddrucker post, I've been getting their grilled chicken sandwich more often than burgers, which also very good!!

Wendy's added something new called a Frescata sandwich, there's several but I always get the Frescata Club, yummy!

That sounds good too!!!! The closest Sonic we have I think is a 2 hour drive at least. I hear they'll be coming to Chicago soon though. I know the main issue is that they've always been a drive-in kind of place, but it gets so cold out here in the winter time. They'll probably have to make an indoor area to eat at, otherwise everyone will have to leave their cars idling
