In case you run out of ketchup here's a substitute:
I would just mix the ingredients with the bbq sauce instead of simmering it on the stove. It's gonna get simmered in the crock pot.

Heinz Ketchup Recipe
Makes 1 1/2 cups.

One 6-ounce can tomato paste
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Whisk until smooth.
2. When mixture comes to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring often.
3. Remove pan from heat and cover until cool. Chill and store in a covered container.
