As I post this via dial up I keep thinking back to my last DSL expensive payment. My connection has been shot since 3am 02-23. My daughter who lives in Douglas County, GA (metro Atlanta) said her and 27 of her friends who have DSL are dealing with modems that keep disconnecting. DSL reports has a thread about people all over Florida having the same problems as Atlanta.
Of course when you call India they tell you there is no record of any problems and make you walk through all kinds of stupid steps. If you are experiencing these problems don't waste your time checking if it's on your end. I have changed modems, ethernet cards, cables and phone jacks. AT&T has once again dropped the ball like they did a couple months ago with the DNS problems.
According to India they do not even notify AT&T there is an outage unless they reach a certain number of calls. Ring those Indian phone lines off. This is uncalled for.

I'm paying for a 3 Mbps download link (mega bits per second) Here are my results:
If this test is measuring bytes per second it is reasonably close.
I am paying $37.95 for AT&T FastAccess DSL Extreme. They claim a maximum up/down speed of 3Mbps/384Kbps. (bits per second) _________________ RunnerBiker ¿

We're cooking over here on Sprint/Embarq. Actually I can't complain about them, service has been good with little problems in the 2 years I've been with them. _________________ You can't hold a liberal responsible for their words because it's character assassination.
Ive had my DSL thru Prtc over 2 years now,and NO problems. I like those folks. They will do all they need to do to make a person happy. _________________
Technician just left my house. He said it is an Atlanta problem that is affecting only half of the network in the SE. If you call it in they send out a technician and the way I got back up was he had to wire my twisted pair to another switch that was open. The new switch wasn't part of the outage. Who is PRTC? I thought the only choices we had here were AT&T (deathstar) and Charter (unreliable) cable?
I totally lost connectivity for awhile there. When I called back ATT back this afternoon, I received a recording saying there were "network" problems in my area and the service would be restored at xx:xx time.
It just came back up a little while ago. At least they resolved it over the weekend. I was expecting it to be tomorrow.

They are small ISP / Rural Telephone Cooperative that serves the low country, down south of I-85. Danger Dan is on that one as well.
Isn't PRTC also an acronym for something on the DSL circuit? I might be thinking something else, I fear not stupid questions. _________________ You can't hold a liberal responsible for their words because it's character assassination.
PRTC is Piedmont Rural Telephone Company. In Laurens. I was on a waiting list for DSL when they first started hooking up lines. Took awhile to get it in Booger Woods. _________________
