I live on Lake Keowee. I'm lookiin' at the water right now.

Weekdays are always quiet. Weekends start getting busy at around 11:00 to Noon. Usually by 5:00 things start to quiet down, and the evening is a really nice time to be on the water.

If you are a fisherman, the early morning hours are always the best.

You lucky dogs. I have to drive over an hour to get up there.

Runnerbiker, do you do any fishing up there? That is one pretty lake and I'd sure love to live on it. I fish in the keowee river all the time. Me and sddrp1 will be there jerkin some lips this weekend!!

Yep, I know where Stamp Creek Rd is. Actually I didn't know, but my mapping software found it for me. Laughing

Keowee is a lot smaller than Hartwell, but it a lot calmer too. More pontoon boats than speed boats, and jet skis everywhere. Smile

I didn't finish my thought (I had a senior moment) Crying or Very sad

I live on the west side of the lake near the Crooked Creek RV park off of Ebenezer Rd. This is a new development and our home was the first one occupied. It was a lonely winter with no neighbors. We moved in on Oct 31, 2003.

One house 14 lots away was bought by a family from Atlanta. They use it for a weekend "getaway" They didn't really spend any time here until school was out, and then they always have company when they come.

The next lot that was occupied was 8 lots away. They moved in on the first weekend in June.

The next house is under contract and it is 12 lots away. Rumor has it the buyer owns 7 McDonald restaurants in Asheville. They will be a weekend warrior too. Asheville is about 2 hours from here.

There are three additional houses under construction by spec builders. It is amazing how they cheapen the houses with the stuff you can't see, and then put in "flashy" stuff that shows. It has been fun watching the construction process.

I haven't done much fishin since I was a yout.

It is something that I plan to remedy. It is kind of funny. I have a fishing reel, and my wife has a pole, so together we could get a license and drown some worms.

Some of the construction guys have been fishing off of the docks around here and they seem to do all right. They are catching cat fish, carp, crapie and sometimes a large mouth bass.

I guess the bigger stripers are down on Hartwell.

Maybe some day we'll meet and exchange fish tales (or maybe that should be tails) :P

Ok, I've got the BASS boat and Rod&Reels if you can guide me to the fish. Wink

Looks like sddrp1 may be losing his spot on the boat.

hehe. Looks like your honey-do list just got a little longer.

We will definately have to go then. I'm self employed so I can go during the week as well. That way we avoid all the crowds and joy riders. The BASS bite will be great in a few weeks. They turn on and go into feeding mode when they sense the weather changing. Fall BASS fishing is usually the best!!

GW,

I was busy over the weekend, so I couldn't respond to your fishin' invite.

My daughter from New York City was here to show off her new boy friend. She actually lives in Manhattan on the lower East side. She has only lived there for about 4 1/2 months. So far she really likes it there. She works for Price Waterhouse Coopers (the public accounting firm).

The "yout" reference was indeed from "My Cousin Vinne". That was a fun movie.

I have only been in the upstate since the end of October. I thought it was
still summer when we got here, and fall didn't start until about December.

HEY! My mouse just stopped working. I was going to insert a smily. I'll try to submit this message, get my mouse to respond again and then finish this message.

I'm baaaaack!

I had to reboot to get my mouse back, but you aren't really interested in my problems with my mouse are you? Confused

According to the calendar, Fall starts on September 20th or 21st, but when does it start around here? You said the fall BASS would start biting in a few weeks, do you mean as early as September?

Sounds like you need a new mouse. Wink - A good optical mouse is hard to beat!!

Yeah, that's about right for the fall around here and the bass will start to get aggressive at some point in September. They can definately sense the comming cold weather and that will trigger them to feed for the winter. During those months their metabolism slows way down and they feed much less so they fill up in the fall. Being it's a little cooler in the mountains, they will most likely turn on there at keowee before anywhere else.

We will have set up a fishing trip soon.

It was a "good" Micro$oft Optical Wheel mouse. I fiddled with it for a while, and then bought a new one. I think a wire broke in the cable. I disassembled it, but of course you can not see anything. It is like opening the hood on a car, when it coasts to the side of the road. What do you expect to see in there? Parts broken in half, or laying around? What do you think you would be able to do if you actually saw anything broken any way?

The next step would be to test each wire with an ohm meter while wiggling the cable.

Or just throw the old one away. They only cost about $20.00.

Naturally, as a pack rat, I put the broken one in the drawer, just in case I ever need a broken mouse.
