um, perhpas just a tad.
Hard to argue with the numbers.
Thanks, Dan.
It just proves how the terms "liberal", "progressive", "conservative", and many others have become totally meaningless in themselves.
For example, we currently have a president who is very conservative with spending money to protect our borders, but who is quite liberal in funding his war effort. He's neither liberal or conservative as a whole. It all depends on the context of the topic being discussed.
I'm looking for someone for president who will be very conservative with our purse strings, protecting our borders and enforcing the laws, yet very liberal regarding citizen's rights and correcting laws that are archaic or amendable. (Remember the Amendments? It means they had another idea to make it better.)
Both parties have had successes demonizing catchwords like "liberal" or "neocon" while the fact remains that there are many good ideas on both sides of the aisles, usually from people who listen to other ideas and try to work together.
In the case of your illustration, however, there isn't much to debate, and therefore I would not expect others who live in such an entrenched part of the country to respond much to it, as it is an ugly truth they'd rather ignore.
Excellent post. _________________ January 20, 2009 - The End of an Error

No accuracy here.
When someone acknowledges that it is Congress, and not the President who sets the national budget this little cartoon takes a whole new meaning. Anyone care to look at what party controlled congress when the deficit grew and which was in control when the "so called surplus" hit?
This Cartoon plays on the ignorance of the public who doesn't know basic civics.
also I'd challenge the label of "Fiscal Conservative" for two of those. _________________ You can't hold a liberal responsible for their words because it's character assassination.

You're SO right, one with lots of relevance and one without. Which one is up to you Dano!

Let's look at the congresses of the past 20 years,. Which party has had the greatest power to create laws? |
Really, which one has dominated? I'll be willing to bet you couldn't make the case for who you want to say.

Which leaders have signed those into place?

Do you even understand how politics work? At some point one has to break away from School House Rock to really understand the dynamics of politics.

Thanks for making the point , Dan.

Actually Dano didn't make any points, he just asked a question and we've received a great example just one of the problems with the voting public.
