I really don't like to read. I would rather do things with my hands, such as beading, working with wire, stamping, baking, sewing and gardening. I have been working on my family tree and enjoy the research it takes to connect families.

What type of books do you like? Fiction? Fantasy? Romance? Mystery? ....

I do alot of reading it's usually on the net. Dart Pug gave me a copy of a good Star Wars novel, but I only read it on occasion so I'm only 3/4 of the way through. It's good if you like science fiction. I use to read lots of SciFi books but I find myself lacking time these days.

Salvatore is a good writer but he's more well know his fantasy novels. I think DP has read most all his books.

The New Jedi Order
Vector Prime
by R.A. Salvatore

I'm a big fantasy fan and mystery fan.
Some of my favorite fantasy writers:
David & Lynne Eddings
Raymond Feist
Terry Goodkind
Terry Brooks
Mercedes Lackey
Brian Jacques (He's mainly a young adult writer but I like him anyway)
L.E. Modisett, Jr.
Dennis McKiernan
Robert Jordan's first novels (Wheel of Time series), but he kinda got burned out I think and got just to stringing words together
plus a whole bunch of others

Mystery-Murder-Mayhem writers:
Patricia Cornwell
Tess Gerritson
James Patterson
J. A . Lance
Of course, there's the cat who ... books by Lilian Jackson Braun .. quick, fun reads. Nice books to take on a trip.
I know I'm leaving some folks out but this is a list of good writers.

Someone I've just started reading is Alice Hoffman. I don't know quite how to describe her writing ... it's mostly about life in New England but she sticks some of the supernatural into it too. Excellent, excellent writer. Keeps you reading on.

A start here for you, sirwen. I'm a big reader and read just about anything.

You are most welcome. Thought of some more writers. Know I'm leaving out some very important ones but my brain can only hold so much at one time.
Fantasy

Robin Hobb
Elizabeth Haydon
Juliet E. McKenna
Don’t forget Harry Potter … they’re such fun

Mystery
T. Jefferson Parker
Janet Evanovich
John Sandford
