350,000 Linux Based Eee Ultra-Portable Laptops Sold

We knew that the Asus Eee PC was going to be popular, but no one expected it to become this popular. Sales figures are starting to roll in for the Asus Eee PC and it turns out that Asus has shipped over 350,000 units thus far, outperforming all early estimations.
Asus was hoping to ship about 300,000 Asus Eee PC units by the time 2007 drew to a close, but it's clear that they have shattered that goal. In fact, if Asus managed to produce more units, they probably would have sold even more. I know that most of my local computer stores are seriously back-ordered for the glossy white (and now black too) wonder. link
Those little laptops are small and lightweight, yet powerful. It would be the perfect device to take on road trips and vacations. I think we'll see these, or similar units, at less than $200 very soon. _________________
