300 suspected illegals held after South Carolina raid
Quote:
GREENVILLE, SC (WIS) - Federal agents say they have detained more than 300 suspected illegal immigrants in a raid on a South Carolina chicken processing plant.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin McDonald says the raid began shortly before 9am Tuesday during a shift change at House of Raeford's Columbia Farms plant.
Federal prosecutors and immigration agents have been investigating the plant's hiring practices. McDonald says 12 people have been arrested in past months, and seven have pleaded guilty.
McDonald says a recent review of 825 workers' immigration paperwork showed false information for more than 775.
A woman at the company's Rose Hill, North Carolina, headquarters had no immediate comment. link
775 had false papers. Are we suppose to believe the employer didn't know they were illegal. Don't make me laugh.
What should happen next is the employer should be heavily fined. If they are caught using illegal labor again, their business license should be revoked. This is the only way to fight and stop the illegal invasion. _________________
